Oettingen, home of Germany’s best-selling beer and the Schloss Oettingen Castle, is also home to the Melodic Death Metal band Seinaru Sekai. A project whose musical style combines aspects of traditional Swedish Death Metal with synth-core dynamics, Seinaru Sekai adds a new, crushing, spin and brutality to typical acts in the Metal-synth genre such as Horse the Band and early adopters that were rooted more in a punk/hardcore vein like 2000’s-era Enter Shikari. Indeed, Seinaru Sekai is closer in approach to Doom video game soundtrack (but not Djent), and/or the direction taken by Cradle of Filth. Imagine, if you would, if Dethklok had a synth-player in the band. Which, now that I think about it, would be awesome.

The band’s current lineup consists of five members:
- Angelo Luca – Bass
- Vicent B. – Drums (ex- Darkest Horizon)
- Christian – Guitars
- Danny – Guitars
- Stephan Schulz – Vocals (ex- Carnage Calligraphy)
The band originally went by the name of Seinaru when they first formed, I’m guessing sometime in 2022, prior to their first official release “Fragile Little World (single)” in February of 2023. A single that reflected the full official name: Seinaru Sekai. The band plans to release a full-length album by the same name of that debut single sometime this year.
This week sees the release of a third single; follow the group on social media for updates!
The band cites In Flames specifically as a main influence on their sound and I certainly hear that musically. I’d definitely recommend them for fans of In Flames. Again, what sets this band apart, however, is the additional brutality that comes with the Death Metal influence, which makes them a worthwhile endeavor for fans of heavy music to consider.
The fact that the band does their own tracking and mixing is another awesome aspect of the band. The mastering of the single at Mordor Sounds Studio is credited to Hannes Grossmann (ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist).
