Happy Bandcamp Friday, Bandcampers!
If you didn’t know, every month’s first Friday is designated as Bandcamp Friday. Bandcamp’s revenue sharing fees are waived on this day, making it the most convenient and “direct to consumer” way to support an artist, at least as far as I’m aware. Of course, independent artists are the main subject of my attention there. A great place to find content for the radio station’s programming and support artists is Bandcamp. It’s convenient in that I can directly support artists, keep up with their work, purchase their merchandise, and download their tracks with all the required metadata including the release art (royalties paid through SoundExchange) and that makes for a simple, streamlined, upload right to the station.

Check out the musicians I supported this month! It makes for an excellent playlist (Bandcamp now has playlist features in the app). If you don’t already, I implore you to set aside some time once a month to support the arts in this manner, even if Bandcamp isn’t the specific medium. If Bandcamp is the case, then perhaps sharing this with you will help get you started on compiling a “Wishlist” of your own on Bandcamp that you can use next Bandcamp Friday.
