The mighty comedic duo Weed N’ Stiff are back with a 15 track full length album entitled “Ron,” dropping June 3rd. Ron, the character in the WNS universe, is the band’s bumbling Manager mostly known for holding auditions at Outback Steakhouse every time Jim Weed quits the band.
The production is top notch and Jim Weed is as manic and as eccentric as ever. They’ve been making music since ’94 and you can find their entire catalog on their Bandcamp page. Of their major releases that have been released to streaming services (“Rocket Steve” and “Buttermoose“) “Ron” is yet again another jump in an unexpected musical direction. Where “Rocket Steve” sounded “Alt-Folk,” almost hipster, and where “Buttermoose” sounded like straight up 90’s guitar oriented alternative rock, “Ron” is an ultimate 80’s montage. However, just like the other major releases, it is musically monumental, melodically infectious, and spot on. Pre-Save it HERE.
You can also pre-order on Bandcamp they have 3 songs available for streaming now:
In the time leading up to “Ron,” Weed N’ Stiff have incorporated their musical saga, universe of characters, and beef with rival band “Moo-Cow” into video game format, creating two video NES video games: “The Legend of Weed N’ Stiff” and “Weed N’ Stiff 2: Joe Bobson’s Revenge.” Download links for the games below.
To boot, they also released the “Weed N’ Stiff 2” Video Game Soundtrack yesterday, on Bandcamp:
